To Orion Clemens.
Come to New York, you and Mollie, along in the early part of next week Visit there a few days and then take our Mother Home with you: it is best that you both come.
We have concluded that when you return you had Better all live at the Peterson house, for the future if you think you will like that plan. Shall write you to day.

The word “Telegram.” at the top of the letter has been omitted from the present text, since presumably it was added by Paine (or his typist). The transcript appears to be a careful reproduction of the original telegram, since it retains several errors in capitalization and punctuation, whereas two other errors are corrected in ink (“Both” changed to “both” in the phrase "you both come," and “willlike” altered to two words in the phrase "you will like that plan").
