I wish you would ask Wm H Jackson & Co., Union Square, if there is any way of curing the offensive odors sent out by the gas-logs. There is no smell when the gas is turned off, consequently there is no leak. The stench turns itself loose only when the logs are [burning].

The mistake was mine, not Harper’s. I will write them.
