My friend and publisher Mr. Hennuyer is about to print my translation of Tom Sawyer, which is now in the hands of the illustrator, Achille Sirouy, a talented and well known artist. Mr. Hennuyer wishes to obtain your sanction for this translation, as well [as] for the forthcoming sequel, Huck Finn.
Tom Sawyer will be published in the same style as my adaptation of Helen’s Babies of which I have the pleasure of offering you a copy, forwarded by this post.
