Dear Molly & [Orion
&] Ma—
Merry Christmas from this household. Let us be unusually merry, for we are all one year nearer to “finding [out.” Not] that I am much ‸strongly‸ interested in the matter, but I judge by the multitude of churches in the world, that most people are. So it is with them & for them that I am proposing this rising vote of rejoicing.
All are well, & send love. Ben is an exception; she is neither [unwell] nor yet unsick, but along between the two somewhere. She is horarse, & will have to lie abed all day & get rid of it.
All the rest are booming, & send Xmas love & good wishes to you all.
Sam
We would like you to drink $10 worth of whisky apiece in honor of Christmas, & I enclose the money.
