May 23/83.
Livy my dear, fun isn’t any name for it! I wishe I had come d a day sooner, as I was invited to do. Reached here at noon today, & it is now toward 8 p.m., the dinner hour—so I will stop scribbling & dress.
If I get time I will write again tonight. Love to you, my darling.
Saml.
The day has been packed full of interest & novelty. And I think the strangest & pleasantest thing was to prowl through the old family photograph albums & trace the historical faces from childhood up—many being familiar countenances.
