hartford, oct. 27th. 1882.
dear charlie,
i inclose a letter asking price of some texas land. there [has] been six or seven of these applications within the past four months, therefore it means something. keep the address of this county by you, and when you get a chance see if you can find out what is going on there, and what the value of the land probably [is.
as] to raymond, i wish you would just make a note of how many times he plays that piece during his new york engagement, so that i can have the matter to refer to in case i wish to bounce him in the future.
