dear charlie:—
i hope you wont run out of money while i am gone but if you should, apply to mrs. clemens and she will furnish [it.
if] you can get what seems to be a good fair price for chicago go ahead and sell it. you need not submit the price to me, for you know better what it is worth than i can possibly know. i know it will be best to sell the pacific coast, and have no doubt it will be just as well to sell chicago. i leave to-day. i do not know how to tell you how to reach me with letters or telegrams, and besides i do not much want to be reached by business anyway while i am gone. run things according to your best judgement and i think you wont make any mistakes of consequence.
yours truly
s. l. clemens.
