Dear Osgood—
I have filled the blanks in the papers (dates) & signed them, as you will perceive.
The canvassing-book is mighty handsome—& the brass stamp ain’t so very bad, either.
I’m very much afraid that those process-pictures are too shallow to stand much of an edition—they’ll fill up easily & wear out quickly. I could have done them to perfection in Kaolatype, (if I had known it then), & about as cheaply & quickly, & a dern sight deeper & stronger. That is, I think I [could.] have done them to perfection—it won’t do to swear to anything, these days.
