Elmira, Sept. 3, /81.
Well, my dear old Whitmo’—
I owe you money on that hotel bill, but we will let her rest, for the present, as I am in bed, exhausted by six days’ work done in three.
I musn’t be writing letters; but this [is] only a note. I wanted to say, I’m away out here in the woods, [far] from all sources of information, & I want to ask you what I had better do about the Omaha pf & Omaha common? Sell at the price I paid, or leave them alone a while longer? Of course I would prefer to sell each at an advance of about 4 points. This would average my d Denver very neatly, & make my 200 stand me in about 85.
Love to you both, Yrs
