My Dear Osgood—

I have also ciphered again, & I think your calculation will prove to be right. And in that event I would suggest that you give the Prince to Chatto on the same basis. Wouldn’t you recommend this action yourself? I would not care to change from the present plan to a more complex one unless I could make at least £200 by it. Anything less would not pay for the consequent strain on my business talent.

Warner is having it rough. Malarial chills & fever. Yesterday a congestive chill, & consequent peril. Doctor in New York & can’t come up. Local physician has tackled the case vigorioously—thinks one more day of the previous mild treatment would have placed Warner beyond hope.
