My Dear Osgood—

Am very much obliged. Now look here, Mrs Clemens & I require that you bide in this shanty while in Hartford. Fetch yourself up in a hack, if you should be in the humor to waive ceremony; otherwise, telegmraph me what train you’ll arrive by, & I will waltz down after you with private carriage, & will throw an amount of style around you that will make you say, yourself, that you wouldn’t trade places with a stud-horse.
