I am glad you have written Aldrich & Howells. I greatly want to see their books in the Series.

My burlesque sketch of the Gambetta-Fourton Duel appeared in Le Figaro to-day, but I don’t know French well enough to tell whether it is well translated or not.

I thank you very much for the books you have had the kindness to send me. They have just arrived, & I promise myself much pleasure in reading them.
