My Dear Mother—

Enclosed I send you $300.== Just drop Livy a line acknowledging the receipt of it—so that I can know.

I am well, & hard at [ word work], but I hear bad news from home—the baby has lung fever. I am sure Livy will wear herself out again, sitting up, though she has plenty of help.
