1 Initially Clemens’s lecture list included only three Saturday engagements—2 and 9 December 1871 and 6 January 1872—out of a possible seventeen between 16 October 1871 and 10 February 1872. Saturday lectures on 16 and 30 December 1871 were later added (9 Oct 71 to Redpath, n. 1; 28 Nov 71 to Fall; Lecture Schedule, 1871–1872; Redpath and Fall 1871–72, 7–11).
