In his subsequent meeting with Elisha Bliss, Clemens probably reported on his progress on Roughing It and answered Bliss’s objections to his commitments to Sheldon (27 Jan 71 to Bliss, n. 1; 27 Jan 71 to Sheldon, n. 1).
